Nico Bennett (they/them) here – queer composer, muralist, bass player, printmaker, found object sculptor, art event organizer, herbalist, rock collector, and general maker of many things.
The versatility of art forms is a quality that never ceases to amaze me, and my fascination with the interaction between different art mediums and the natural world is one of my main creative inspirations. My murals, music compositions, and other shape//sound installations have been on display from the streets and livingrooms of Philadelphia to the forests and lakesides of upstate New York. My art practices aim to cherish the process just as much as the product, and are connected through the drive to hand-craft something tactile and deeply experiential. Whether exploring with pigment, noise, light, wire, thread, food, plants, or live performance, I am always looking to immerse myself in artistic play.
